Requests for a home visit must be made before 10.30am.
Calls to the house should only be requested if you are too unwell to come to the surgery. We would ask you, if at all possible, to attend the surgery where we can examine you more thoroughly than at home. If you are fit to travel by car then there is no obligation on the doctor to visit you at home. If you do not have a car, it is not the doctor's job to arrange transport. Car transport is often available from friends, relatives or taxi firms.
It helps us to judge the urgency of calls if you describe the symptoms, so do expect to be asked. Our receptionists have been specifically trained in this area and you may be assured that all information will be treated as confidential.
If you feel your need is URGENT, then please tell the receptionist as the doctors need to plan their round of home visits, and home visits for more serious illness will of course need to be dealt with first.
